UP Program

Before and After School Care & Summer Program

Our Unlocking Potential (UP) Program connects elementary students to the educational, social, and recreational resources they need to flourish. UP works in collaboration with the Rochester School District to provide extended learning opportunities, build on in-school curriculum topics, and offer enrichment activities in areas such as the arts, community service, and science at no additional cost to families.

Our before and after school care provides a safe, exciting, and educational environment for children between the ages of 5 and 12. The school age program is offered at East Rochester, Chamberlain, William Allen, Maple Street, McClelland and Gonic schools. Each site is licensed by the State of New Hampshire and individualized to the school in which they are located. Students engage in homework, outside play, a nutritious snack, arts and crafts, and various enrichment activities. Care is available before and after school hours and during school vacations, delays, and early releases.

What to Expect

  • Before school, students are welcomed by our qualified staff and offered a variety of activities. Weather permitting, we will spend a portion of the morning outside where students can play freely or participate in group games. We then transition inside and help students prepare for their day.

  • Our after school schedule varies depending on the staff and needs of the children, but the following is an example of what students can experience in the program. Once students are dismissed from school, our program begins! Staff will welcome students and lead them into various activities for the afternoon. Students will have the opportunity to socialize, engage in outdoor play, eat a healthy snack, and enjoy structured enrichment time. We offer a balance of free and structured play, while tailoring enrichment programs to the interests of our students.

We provide additional enrichment programs, through volunteers and outside organizations, at no additional charge.

  • During our summer program, we strive to provide students with a wide range of enriching experiences. We often travel to state parks, discovery centers, and local farms to inspire curiosity and unlock potential. Field trips vary each year, however, our goal is always to learn and grow. While at the schools, we offer a full day of activities that can include water play, crafts, group games, and much more! Breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack are served each day. Students will also have the chance to enjoy rest and quiet time.

In addition to field trips, we plan swim time at the community pools and schedule various enrichment programs for on-site visits.

“My three children have attended RCCC, both at the Center and with Aftercare since 2017 and my children have flourished under their care.  RCCC always puts their students and families first. They are intentional with their curriculum and food is provided—I couldn’t ask for more.”
